Mixology: [mik-sol-uh-jee] –noun: the art or skill of preparing mixed drinks

3 May

I’m trying mixology. It is a thing I’ve been trying for awhile but not formally, not that I am getting all formal now, it’s just that I want to see what I can come up with using things I haven’t thought up previously. No more cocktail books. I’m going rouge.

Lasts nights mix:

May 2, 2011

2oz strawberry infussed vodka
1oz peach Stirrings liqueur
1oz ginger Stirrings liqueur
Orange soda water
Mint leaves and strawberries to garnish.

2 fresh cut strawberries and ice in a wine glass.

2oz strawberry infused vodka (my own/first attempt at infusing.)

1oz peach and 1oz ginger of my new favorite liqueur brand, Stirrings Natural Liqueurs, poured over the vodka and strawberries.

Topped off orange soda water and garnished with mint leaves.

Unsurprisingly it tasted just like I imagined it would but not as sweet as you might be imagining. Score 1 for dungeon drinking.

Method in review:
Place strawberries in glass (any glass).
Add vodka and liqueur.
Top with soda water.
Garnish with strawberries and mint. Get messy.
